Ramapo Royals vs Nanuet recap.

Ryan Schelling 4 2/3 innings pitched 8 Ks for the win. Hunter Surgan 1 1/3 innings pitched 1K.  CJ Tyrrell 2-3 1 RBI 2 runs scored. John Scavetta 2-2 and a walk, 3 RBIs, 2 runs, Noah Shatkin 3-3, 2 doubles 1 run, 3 RBIs, Chris Fay 2-3, 2 runs, 1 RBI,

After taking an early 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st Ramapo fell behind 2-1 in the bottom of the inning. After a somewhat shaky 1st inning, Ryan Schelling settled in and pitched a gem of a game going 4 2/3 innings and striking out 8. After scratching out a run in the top of the 3rd and 2 I. The fourth, the Royals blew open the game with an 8 run fifth. Hunter Surhan came in relief to get the last out in the fifth and finished the 6th.

June 17: East Ramapo (2) -v- Ramapo (13) at 6:00pm

Minor Royals won last night 13-2 over East Ramapo and make it to the FINALS game against the winner of Suffern/Nanuet Game on Saturday June 21 at 5:30 PM

The Royals got off to a fast start against E Ramapo as the 1st 4 hitters, Chris Fay, Charlie Tyrrell, John Scavetta, and Ryan Schelljng all reached base and scored in the top of the first. Starter John Scavetta gave one back in the first inning on a walk and 1 hit, but settled in nicely to pitch 3 2/3 innings. Scavetta gave up 2 hits, 2 walks and struck out 8 for the win. 

Ramapo added 2 runs in the second, 1 in the fourth and broke the game open with 4 in the 5th on Noah Shatkin's 2 run triple. 

The Royals added 2 more in the 6th and Hunter Surgan finished the last 2 and 1/3 innings getting the save. Surgan gave up 1 run on 2 hits and struck out 5. 

The hitting stars of the game were Noah Shatkin 2-3 with a double, triple and 3 RBI, Chris Fay 2-3, walk and 2 runs, Jack Weiss, 2 walks and 2 runs, Landon DeFerrari 1-2, double, RBI, 2 runs, Scott Fleishmann 1-1, 2 walks, 2 runs, and Greg DiStefano 1-2, 2 walks and 2 runs.

Ramapo 9's defeated Congers 16-15. But was more amazing Ramapo was down 15-9 entering the bottom of the 6 inning. Ramapo had a rally and won the game 16-15 with a walk off single by Sean Stead who went 4-4 with 2 doubles. The entire team contributed for a great team effort.

Billy Kayser 9 Year Old Tournament (Host by Pearl River) (Pool Play, then Semi-Finals, then Finals) (July 16 thru July 23) All Games at Anderson Complex - 81 Hunt Road, Orangeburg, New York, 10962

July 16: Pearl River (12) -v- Ramapo (10) 8:00PM Bocket Field

Pearl River’s 5-run second inning, keyed by hits from Ian Rowan, Tommy Ocasal, Jack Lynch, Drew Fortescue and Jack Raspanti, propelled the team to a 7-3 lead.  Ramapo battled back with a 4-run fourth inning, on hits from C.J. Tyrell, Sean Stead and Christopher Liporace, to make the game close, but PR reliever Kieran Bellew struck out the side in the sixth to preserve the victory.  Raspanti had three hits for PR, and Stead slugged a double and two singles, and scored three runs, for Ramapo.  Bellew struck out six in his two innings of relief.

PITCH COUNT:  PR: Lynch (37);  Ryan McKenna (47); Bellew (49).  RAMAPO:  Luke Eganhauser (51); Vincent Miceli (28);  Chris Faye (79); Stead (6). 

July 17: Suffern (8) -v- Ramapo (10) 6:00PM McKiernan Field

Ramapo scored 8 runs in their first two innings, then held on for an 10-8 victory.  Ramapo leadoff hitter Charlie Tyrrell stroked a single and two doubles and scored twice, and Andrei Risko had a single, double and three runs scored.  Chris Faye scored twice, and Sean Stead had a double for the winners.  Suffern’s Payton Phillips, Thomas Sorice and Jimmy Rorro each had a hit and scored twice, and Jackson Brooks had a double.   Ramapo relievers Stead and Risko did a good job pitching the 5th and 6th innings and holding Suffern to just one run. They each had two strikeouts.

PITCH COUNT:  RAMAPO:  Tyrrell (35+1); Stead (73); Risko (34).  SUFFERN: Joe Varisco (35+1); Jared Warren (34); Phillips (18); Freddy Flugger (14).  

July 19: Nyack-Valley Cottage (2) -v- Ramapo (8) 10:00AM Bocket Field

Ramapo starting pitcher Andrei Risko held Nyack-VC hitless for the first three innings and struck out 8 batters. In the meantime, Ramapo took a 4-0 lead, scoring 3 runs in the second inning on hits by Lukas Egenhauser, Chris Liporace and Vincent Miceli, and adding a run in the third on singles by Chris Fay, Sean Stead and Risko. Nyack-VC cut the lead in half in the fourth frame on consecutive base hits from Trevor Sundvik, Matt Davie and Mackie Shirazi. Ramapo, however, had a 4-run sixth inning to put the game away, with Billy Silver’s hit sparking the rally.

PITCH COUNT:  RAMAPO: Andrei Risko (77);  Lukas Egenhauser (50+1). NYACK-VC:  Ben Cannici (43); Nicolas Vasquez (37); Sundvik (20).
